The industry of Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) has been growing rapidly over the past 20 years. Its' roots can be traced to animal assisted therapies throughout Europe. Here in the in the USA there are numerous successful examples of successful programs that all meet the needs of very specific groups: like those students who are disengaged and students who have been identified with learning disabilities. Many of the newest horse assisted programs are addressing the needs of the folks living with dementia and caregivers, trauma recovery and grief therapy.
